Architecture receives top rankings

Our Architecture course, in the Department of Architecture & Civil Engineering, has been awarded the top ranking by both The Complete University Guide and the Good University guide for 2019.

Architecture has been ranked first in at least one of the national league tables for the past ten years, an achievement which no other University can match for the subject.

Professor Alex Wright, Head of the Architecture Group, welcomed the results, commenting, “We’re delighted that the work of all the staff and students in the Department has been recognised in the rankings this year.

"We are able to look back over a decade where the national reputation of the Department has increased and we are looking forward to the challenges in continuing to develop our programmes and research excellence.”

Professor Stephen Emmitt, Head of Department, added, “The ability to consistently maintain the number one spot for Architecture over ten years is an incredible achievement, celebrating the vision and dedication of all involved in the course and reflecting the unique value provided by our joint Department.”

The league tables look at a range of factors including student opinion, graduate job prospects and course entry standards.
